A Brief history

Our story

In 1963, a small group of believers began meeting at Ruediger Elementary School in South-East Tallahassee.  The group grew and eventually the Lord called them to plant a church.

Land was donated and a fellowship hall was built.  Not long afterward a Children’s building and offices were added.  Eventually a Sanctuary was constructed and Covenant Church was formed.

For nearly 60 years Covenant has served the Lord in Tallahassee.  Covenant is an evangelical, biblically grounded, and Christ-centered congregation.  As a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, we are elder led and rooted in the Reformed tradition.  Strong biblical preaching and teaching, a vital fellowship of loving and caring believers, and a heartfelt desire for outreach and evangelism characterize our community.

Come join us for worship and see if the Lord may be calling you to join our family as we seek to serve him in Tallahassee and beyond!

Our Pastor

Pastor Rick has served as the Pastor at Covenant since 2009. He earned a BA in Religious Studies and Philosophy in 1996 as a double major at Westmont College, in Santa Barbara, California, and a M. Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2003.

Rick and Melinda have been married for 23 years.  They met during a semester studying abroad in Europe and the Holy Land.  The Lord has blessed them with two wonderful boys, Brayden 11 and Bryce 8.

In addition to serving at Covenant, Rick teaches Middle School Bible at Community Christian School where Melinda teaches Elementary Art and High school Art History.

Our Testimonies

"What brought us to Covenant was a visit to the church where we found a pastor that taught biblical truth, a Christ centered church in activities and studies, as well as, a loving congregation of people committed to Jesus and sharing the gospel with others."
Phil & Carolyn S.
"When I fell and got hurt the church took care of me with love and prayers. When my husband was passing my church was there for me. You are my family and I love each one of you. My God bless you and keep you always."
